Issue

A discrepancy has been detected in the third highlight under the section 'Release no. 4: December 4, 2007'.

Resolution

The text should have read:

• The Chinese languages¹ are the third largest mother tongue group, as 3% of the population reported a Chinese language as their mother tongue.

Instead of:

• The Chinese languages¹ are the third largest non-official mother tongue group, as 3% of the Canadian population reported a Chinese language as their mother tongue.

The HTML page at http://www12.statcan.ca/census-recensement/2006/rt-td/lng-eng.cfm has been updated accordingly.
