Notes:

  1. Data are available only for those areas for which reliable estimates can be produced.
  2. Excludes Indian settlements and reserves in the 10 provinces.
  3. An urban area has a minimum population concentration of 1,000 persons and a population density of at least 400 persons per square kilometre, based on the current census population count.
  4. 'All territories' includes the Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut combined.
  5. 'Atlantic Provinces' includes Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick combined.
