About immigration and citizenship

Citizenship refers to the legal citizenship status of the respondent. Persons who are citizens of more than one country were instructed to provide the name of the other country(ies).

Landed immigrant status refers to whether or not the person is a landed immigrant in Canada. Landed immigrants are people who have been granted the right to live in Canada permanently by immigration authorities.

Place of birth of respondent refers to the province or territory where the respondent was born, for respondents who were born in Canada, or to the country where the respondent was born, for respondents born outside Canada.
