In 2011, Stratford (Town) had a population of 8,574, representing a percentage change of 21.1% from 2006. This compares to the national average growth of 5.9%.

Land area is 22.48 square kilometres with a population density of 381.4 persons per square kilometre. This compares to the provincial land area of 5,685.73 square kilometres with a population density of 24.7 persons per square kilometre.
