In 2011, Douglas (Parish / Paroisse (municipalité de)) had a population of 6,081, representing a percentage change of 5.3% from 2006. This compares to the national average growth of 5.9%.

Land area is 1,446.78 square kilometres with a population density of 4.2 persons per square kilometre. This compares to the provincial land area of 71,377.18 square kilometres with a population density of 10.5 persons per square kilometre.
