In 2011, Saugeen Shores (Town) had a population of 12,661, representing a percentage change of 8.0% from 2006. This compares to the national average growth of 5.9%.

Land area is 170.97 square kilometres with a population density of 74.1 persons per square kilometre. This compares to the provincial land area of 908,607.67 square kilometres with a population density of 14.1 persons per square kilometre.
