2011 Census and Geography Dissemination Consultation Guide

Purpose of this guide

This consultation guide has been developed to assist you in providing feedback on 2006 Census products and services and in contributing ideas and suggestions towards shaping the 2011 Census dissemination strategy.

To help you prepare your submission, this guide includes:

• feedback related to census dissemination and geography collected during the 2011 Census content consultation process (April to November 2007)
• major characteristics of the 2006 Census and geography products and services line
• proposed 2011 Census directions for census and geography dissemination
• discussion points related to various aspects of the dissemination strategy.

Hyperlinks throughout the document bring you to other sections within the guide or to the census web pages to which they refer. (Note: All the screen captures have also been hyperlinked).

The input from data users is important to Statistics Canada in planning the census and geography dissemination strategy. Your feedback helps to inform us of users' needs and expectations.

How you can get involved

There are three ways you can submit your opinions, ideas and recommendations for the 2011 Census and geography dissemination strategy.

Option 1: Complete the online template found in the 'Discussion points' chapter and send it to us by e-mail, regular mail or fax.

Option 2: Participate in the online discussion forum when it becomes available on Statistics Canada's website in January 2009.

Option 3: Write your submission in the format that suits you best and send it to us by e-mail, regular mail or fax.
