• In 2016, the enumerated population of St. John's census metropolitan area (CMA) was 205,955, which represents a change of 4.6% from 2011. This compares to the provincial average of 1.0% and the national average of 5.0%.
• The land area of St. John's is 804.79 square kilometres and the population density was 255.9 people per square kilometre.
• In 2016, there were 85,015 private dwellings occupied in St. John's, which represent a change of 7.7% from 2011.
