In 2016, 79.7% of people aged 25 to 64 in Rouyn-Noranda had a high school diploma or equivalency certificate, compared with 86.3% in Canada.
In Rouyn-Noranda, 19.2% of people aged 25 to 64 had a bachelor’s degree or higher in 2016, while 17.6% had a college, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma as their highest level of education, and 26.2% had an apprenticeship or trades certificate or diploma as their highest.
In Rouyn-Noranda, 8.4% of women aged 25 to 64 with a bachelor’s degree or higher studied STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), compared with 37.0% of men. On the other hand, 91.6% of these women studied BHASE (non-STEM) fields of study such as business, humanities, health, arts, social sciences, education, etc., compared with 62.8% of men.
