  • In 2016, the enumerated population of Toronto census metropolitan area (CMA) was 5,928,040, which represents a change of 6.2% from 2011. This compares to the provincial average of 4.6% and the national average of 5.0%.
  • The land area of Toronto is 5,905.84 square kilometres and the population density was 1,003.8 people per square kilometre.
  • In 2016, there were 2,135,909 private dwellings occupied in Toronto, which represent a change of 7.3% from 2011.
