• In 2016, 1,595 children aged 0 to 14 and 1,975 persons aged 65 and over were enumerated in Nelson, representing respectively 15.1% and 18.7% of the total population.
• The working age population (15 to 64) represented 66.3% of the total population. In comparison, for Canada the proportions of children, of seniors and in age of working were 16.6%, 16.9% and 66.5% in 2016.
