- In 2016, 350 children aged 0 to 14 and 2,045 persons aged 65 and over were enumerated in Southern Gulf Islands, representing respectively 7.4% and 43.2% of the total population.
- The working age population (15 to 64) represented 49.4% of the total population. In comparison, for Canada the proportions of children, of seniors and in age of working were 16.6%, 16.9% and 66.5% in 2016.
