Description

This chart shows Canada's urbanization rate from 1901 to 2006. The rate has been rising steadily, from 37% in 1901 to 45% in 1911, 49% in 1921, 54% in 1931, 54% in 1941, 62% in 1951, 67% in 1956, 74% in 1966, 76% in 1976, 76% in 1986, 78% in 1996 and 80% in 2006.
