Provides information that enables users to effectively use, apply and interpret data from the 2006 Census. Each guide contains definitions and explanations on census concepts, data quality and historical comparability. Additional information will be included for specific variables to help general users better understand the concepts and questions used in the census.
Technical reports examine the quality of data from the 2006 Census. Despite the considerable effort taken to ensure high quality standards throughout each census step, the results are subject to a certain degree of error. The Aboriginal Peoples technical report will contain explanations of census concepts, data quality and historical comparability, as well as information on data collection, processing and dissemination. The Sampling and Weighting technical report will present the method of sampling and weighting used in the 2006 Census as well as its effect on the results. The Coverage technical report will present the coverage errors which occurred when persons or dwellings were missed by the 2006 Census or enumerated in error. The content of these reports are aimed at moderate and sophisticated users.
