In 2011, South Stormont (Township) had a population of 12,617, representing a percentage change of 0.8% from 2006. This compares to the national average growth of 5.9%.

Land area is 447.50 square kilometres with a population density of 28.2 persons per square kilometre. This compares to the provincial land area of 908,607.67 square kilometres with a population density of 14.1 persons per square kilometre.
