• In 2016, the enumerated population of Hamilton census metropolitan area (CMA) was 747,545, which represents a change of 3.7% from 2011. This compares to the provincial average of 4.6% and the national average of 5.0%.
• The land area of Hamilton is 1,371.89 square kilometres and the population density was 544.9 people per square kilometre.
• In 2016, there were 293,345 private dwellings occupied in Hamilton, which represent a change of 4.0% from 2011.
