• In 2016, the enumerated population of Edmonton census metropolitan area (CMA) was 1,321,426, which represents a change of 13.9% from 2011. This compares to the provincial average of 11.6% and the national average of 5.0%.
• The land area of Edmonton is 9,438.86 square kilometres and the population density was 140.0 people per square kilometre.
• In 2016, there were 502,143 private dwellings occupied in Edmonton, which represent a change of 11.4% from 2011.
