Census tracts are outlined with a solid red line, labelled in red text with their six digit name.

Census subdivisions are outlined with a solid black line, labelled in black text with their official name and type.

Population centres within the target census metropolitan area or census agglomeration are shaded in light red.

Rural areas within the target census metropolitan area or census agglomeration are shaded in white.

Selected roads are displayed on the map as thin grey lines and are labelled in black text.

Selected railways are displayed on the map as thin grey dashed lines.

Selected water features are displayed on the map as either thin blue lines or water bodies shaded blue. They are labelled with an italicized blue font.

All maps are oriented to the north.

All maps vary in scale and size. Scale is expressed on each map as a representative fraction and a graphic bar scale.

All maps are displayed with the Lambert conformal conic projection using specific provincial parameters. Census metropolitan areas and census agglomerations which cross provincial boundaries use the projection parameters associated with the provincial part which is larger in terms of land area.
