2006 Census Corrections and updates

All 2006 Census data products which contain highest certificate, diploma or degree (13) and the Federal Electoral District (FED) Profile, 2006 Census, catalogue number 92-595-XWE.

Issue
Census questions relating to education changed substantially between 2001 and 2006. When the data products noted above were first released, a footnote was included with some of the highest certificate, diploma or degree categories to advise users that the only historically comparable categories of this variable were at the Bachelor’s degree level and above. However, further analysis revealed that additional categories could also be historically compared. Please consult the Education Reference Guide, 2006 Census, catalogue number 97-560-GWE2006003 for more details.
Resolution
Footnotes attached to these products have been revised to update the cautionary notes on historical comparability and to provide a reference to the Education Reference Guide, 2006 Census. There is no impact on the data.
