In 2011, Mount Pearl (City) had a population of 24,284, representing a percentage change of -1.6% from 2006. This compares to the national average growth of 5.9%.

Land area is 15.75 square kilometres with a population density of 1,542.1 persons per square kilometre. This compares to the provincial land area of 370,510.76 square kilometres with a population density of 1.4 persons per square kilometre.
