In 2011, Boischatel (Municipalité) had a population of 6,465, representing a percentage change of 22.3% from 2006. This compares to the national average growth of 5.9%.

Land area is 20.93 square kilometres with a population density of 308.8 persons per square kilometre. This compares to the provincial land area of 1,356,547.02 square kilometres with a population density of 5.8 persons per square kilometre.
