In 2011, Sainte-Catherine (Ville) had a population of 16,762, representing a percentage change of 3.4% from 2006. This compares to the national average growth of 5.9%.

Land area is 9.50 square kilometres with a population density of 1,764.1 persons per square kilometre. This compares to the provincial land area of 1,356,547.02 square kilometres with a population density of 5.8 persons per square kilometre.
