In 2011, Summerside (City) had a population of 14,751, representing a percentage change of 1.7% from 2006. This compares to the national average growth of 5.9%.

Land area is 28.36 square kilometres with a population density of 520.1 persons per square kilometre. This compares to the provincial land area of 5,685.73 square kilometres with a population density of 24.7 persons per square kilometre.
