In 2011, Saint-Lazare (Ville) had a population of 19,295, representing a percentage change of 13.4% from 2006. This compares to the national average growth of 5.9%.

Land area is 66.62 square kilometres with a population density of 289.6 persons per square kilometre. This compares to the provincial land area of 1,356,547.02 square kilometres with a population density of 5.8 persons per square kilometre.

In 2011, Saint-Lazare (Ville) had 6,411 private dwellings occupied by usual residents. The change in private dwellings occupied by usual residents from 2006 was 12.9%. For Canada as a whole, the number of private dwellings occupied by usual residents increased 7.1%.
