In 2011, Gananoque (Town) had a population of 5,194, representing a percentage change of -1.7% from 2006. This compares to the national average growth of 5.9%.

Land area is 7.01 square kilometres with a population density of 740.8 persons per square kilometre. This compares to the provincial land area of 908,607.67 square kilometres with a population density of 14.1 persons per square kilometre.
