• In 2016, the enumerated population of Sault Ste. Marie (City) was 73,368, which represents a change of -2.4% from 2011. This compares to the provincial average of 4.6% and the national average of 5.0%.
• The land area of Sault Ste. Marie (City) is 223.24 square kilometres and the population density was 328.6 people per square kilometre.
• In 2016, there were 32,634 private dwellings occupied in Sault Ste. Marie (City), which represent a change of 0.4% from 2011.
