Appendix 2.5 - Table 2 NOC 2011 major groups and NOC-S 2006 major groups

Description

Table 2 provides a detailed breakdown of NOC 2011-NOC-S 2006 empirical concordances between major groups of the National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2011 and those of the National Occupational Classification - Statistics (NOC-S) 2006, based on information provided by the 2011 National Household Survey (NHS). The concordances are based on the employed labour force aged 15 years and over in private households.

The empirical concordances are presented in the form of tables arranged in the sequence of the classification shown on the left side of the table.

The main column headings are: code; NOC 2011 major groups; code; NOC-S2006 major groups; share of NOC 2011 major groups.

NOC 2011 major group: 0 - Senior management occupations is equal to NOC-S 2006 major group: A0 - Senior management occupations.

NOC 2011 major group: 01-05 - Specialized middle management occupations is distributed within three NOC-S 2006 major groups: A1 - Specialist managers; A2 - Managers in retail trade, food and accommodation services; A3 - Other managers, n.e.c.

NOC 2011 major group: 06 - Middle management occupations in retail and wholesale trade and customer services is distributed within four NOC-S 2006 major groups: A1 - Specialist managers; A2 - Managers in retail trade, food and accommodation services; A3 - Other managers, n.e.c.; G0 - Sales and service supervisors.

NOC 2011 major group: 07-09 - Middle management occupations in trades, transportation, production and utilities is distributed within three NOC-S 2006 major groups: A1 - Specialist managers; A3 - Other managers, n.e.c.; I0 - Occupations unique to agriculture, excluding labourers.
