In 2011, Carignan (Ville) had a population of 7,966, representing a percentage change of 7.3% from 2006. This compares to the national average growth of 5.9%.

Land area is 62.31 square kilometres with a population density of 127.8 persons per square kilometre. This compares to the provincial land area of 1,356,547.02 square kilometres with a population density of 5.8 persons per square kilometre.
