In 2011, Verchères (Municipalité) had a population of 5,692, representing a percentage change of 8.6% from 2006. This compares to the national average growth of 5.9%.

Land area is 73.27 square kilometres with a population density of 77.7 persons per square kilometre. This compares to the provincial land area of 1,356,547.02 square kilometres with a population density of 5.8 persons per square kilometre.

In 2011, Verchères (Municipalité) had 2,323 private dwellings occupied by usual residents. The change in private dwellings occupied by usual residents from 2006 was 9.9%. For Canada as a whole, the number of private dwellings occupied by usual residents increased 7.1%.
