In 2011, Muskoka Lakes (Township) had a population of 6,324, representing a percentage change of -2.2% from 2006. This compares to the national average growth of 5.9%.

Land area is 794.48 square kilometres with a population density of 8.0 persons per square kilometre. This compares to the provincial land area of 908,607.67 square kilometres with a population density of 14.1 persons per square kilometre.
