In 2011, Saint-Paul (Municipalité) had a population of 5,122, representing a percentage change of 28.0% from 2006. This compares to the national average growth of 5.9%.

Land area is 49.39 square kilometres with a population density of 103.7 persons per square kilometre. This compares to the provincial land area of 1,356,547.02 square kilometres with a population density of 5.8 persons per square kilometre.

In 2011, Saint-Paul (Municipalité) had 2,058 private dwellings occupied by usual residents. The change in private dwellings occupied by usual residents from 2006 was 32.3%. For Canada as a whole, the number of private dwellings occupied by usual residents increased 7.1%.

Saint-Paul (Municipalité) is part of the census agglomeration of Joliette.
