In 2011, Cold Lake (City) had a population of 13,839, representing a percentage change of 15.4% from 2006. This compares to the national average growth of 5.9%.

Land area is 59.30 square kilometres with a population density of 233.4 persons per square kilometre. This compares to the provincial land area of 640,081.87 square kilometres with a population density of 5.7 persons per square kilometre.
