Population, 2016 and 2011 censuses

• In 2016, the enumerated population of Portage la Prairie (Rural municipality) was 6,975, which represents a change of 6.9% from 2011. This compares to the provincial average of 5.8% and the national average of 5.0%.
• The land area of Portage la Prairie (Rural municipality) is 1,961.97 square kilometres and the population density was 3.6 people per square kilometre.
